A Family Built on Education
For over 25 years, the King family has been dedicated to giving children the best possible start. Our journey spans three campuses, two states, and thousands of families who've trusted us with their most precious gift.

Shawn & Pam King
Shawn and Pam King's journey with The Goddard School began in 2000, when they opened their first campus in Alpharetta, Georgia. What started as a shared passion for early childhood education became a lifelong commitment — and a family tradition.
Their own children are Goddard graduates, giving Shawn and Pam firsthand experience as both owners and parents. They've seen the curriculum work not just in the classroom, but at the dinner table, on the playground, and in the confidence their children carried into elementary school and beyond.
In 2019, they brought The Goddard School to Winter Garden, Florida, quickly earning a 4.9 Google rating and multiple Circle of Excellence awards. Now, in 2026, they're expanding to Horizon West to serve even more families in the growing Central Florida community.
A Calling, Not Just a Career
Before entering early childhood education, Pam King built a career in nursing, including experience in the neonatal ICU. Working with the most vulnerable newborns shaped her understanding of child development at the deepest level — and reinforced what she'd known since childhood.
“Since I was a young girl I knew that I wanted to work with children. My nursing background, especially my time in the neonatal ICU, gave me a profound appreciation for how critical those early years are. Every child deserves a safe, nurturing place to grow and learn.”

At The Goddard School, our teachers are more than educators — they're mentors, cheerleaders, and trusted partners in your child's development. We invest in hiring, training, and retaining the best teachers in the industry because we know that the adult in the room matters more than anything else.
